@c12 – I might have come across a bit too strongly I admit. I happily accept everyone’s opinions to improve the service and generally I love criticism, but not when they “request we remove the service completely or start charging a fee”. I was offended and couldn’t keep my mouth shut. And I really think that if someone is going to voice such a strong opinion about the fruit of 4 people’s hard work, then they should stand by it and not do it anonymously. Maybe Tim works for a website that charges you a fee to datestamp files, which we’re doing for free?

Hurray anonymous support for someone with a passive aggressive and negative approach. From what I’ve seen Myows has replied professionally and courteously despite disagreeing with Tim’s objections.

From what I understand the service allows you to upload works in progress as well as the finished work, which verifies you’re not the end user or just stealing it from someone’s website.

Plus the whole world is not the US of A.

I agree with you Tim! “myows” you are being very aggressive in the way you’re not accept the opinion of tim! the critics do not always have to be positive as we expect, the idea of MYOWS is good butneeds to be worked in order to became better!

You’re completely missing the point.

Besides, who are you to request we remove our service? We have hundreds of positive feedback from the design community and I’d appreciate if you stopped posting this kind of damaging comments. I’ve already answered you on PlagiarismToday’s blog.

If you really have a valid opinion to voice, then why do it anonymously?

And no, we won’t start charging a fee nor remove the service.

This is not a good thing. These people think they are doing the art and design community a service, but in fact this could cause even more problems!
Because this is a free service (unlike registering your works though the US Copyright Office) anyone could create a free account and upload any work that they did not create to it and claim themselves as the copyright holder.
You wouldn’t think anyone would be that dishonest, but I’ve had companies use my artwork without my permission for creating products that they sold in their brick and mortar stores. People are not honest.
I sincerely request that myows rethink this service and either remove it completely, or start charging a fee.
