Logo for a photography site megapixel8.com. At first I was focused on going the pixel route and utilizing that but then I wanted to emphasize on the mega aspect of it.
This was a logo done for a start up company contest. They wanted an identity to showcase their website that was triggered towards people trying to lose weight. The site was a betting system where they would barter how much they would lose for that week and if they succeeded they would gain double. Playing with clothes as a dollar bill was the basis of the logo signifying the inches they lost with being paid.
As a logo exercise I wanted to work with shapes and playing with negative space. The idea was that 'hidden shelf' is one of those great book stores that you can never find unless you know of it. There are hidden treasures in cities and urban areas in way of shops. The identity becomes a book or even a lowered basement and the pages are a play on books pointing the viewer again to the symbol of a book store.
